Eric Bizzarri is an award-winning Canadian director and producer based in Toronto, known for his evocative storytelling and nuanced exploration of human relationships. His work delves into themes such as toxic masculinity, friendships, intimacy, and the complex dynamics of adolescence. Eric's films have been showcased on prestigious platforms including CBC, Super Channel, Air Canada, Revry, and Amazon Prime.
Eric's recent producing achievements include DIASPORA (TIFF, Palm Springs International ShortFest), DESI STANDARD TIME TRAVEL (Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival, Tallgrass Film Festival), THE SECOND starring Paul Sun- Hyung Lee (Fantasia International Film Festival, Hawaii International Film Festival) and Conditions of Release starring Eric Roberts (Warsaw International Film Festival). His most recent project, HALFWAY HAUNTED, recently celebrated its world premiere at the 2025 HollyShorts Film Festival.
As a director, Eric’s recent films include MEA CULPA (Toronto Black Film Festival, Reykjavik International Film Festival), PRESSURE PLAY (Canadian Film Fest, Halifax Black Film Festival), and I WANNA MAKE A MOVIE, OR I WANNA DIE TRYING (TIFF Next Wave, Whistler Film Festival). He also directed a Ben & Jerry’s commercial in collaboration with Label 428. In 2023, Eric was selected for the Reykjavik International Film Festival Talent Lab, an initiative designed to support emerging directors as they prepare for their first feature film.
Eric’s work has been supported by the Government of Canada, Ontario Arts Council, Canada Council for the Arts, Canada Arts Presentation Fund, Ontario Creates, Canada Media Fund, and the City of Toronto.
Eric is the Co-Founder and CEO of the Future of Film Showcase (FOFS), a Toronto-based nonprofit organization dedicated to nurturing and spotlighting emerging Canadian filmmakers. In 2025, Eric was named one of York University’s 2025 Top 30 Under 30 Alumni. Eric holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film Production with Honors from York University.
